DESCRIPTION
WP 8 focuses on the operational verification, in pilot and pre-industrial environments, of the feasibility of a new sourcing model for a more agile and resilient supply chain.
Gresmalt will use its know-how, the results of the project and those of its partners to implement and validate a digital twin that virtually represents the real supply chain.
Activities will include trade-off analysis to compare different scenarios and compliance analysis to verify compliance with regulations and company standards. The digital twin will be scaled from the pilot environment to the operational context to test its effectiveness in improving the procurement strategy.
The innovation of this WP lies in testing a digital twin that integrates supply chain sustainability information, a first for the Italian and European ceramics industry. This approach will create a more efficient and sustainable supply chain.
ACTIVITIES
In order to achieve the purpose of the WP, the activities described below have been planned.
8.1 Develop a digital twin databaseCreate a unique database that can be queried with Business Intelligence to consolidate the data needed to operate the Digital Supply Chain Twin.8.2 Experiment and test the Digital Supply Chain Twin (DSCT)Test the Digital Supply Chain Twin by simulating procurement scenarios, assessing environmental and socio-economic impacts, and measuring supply chain agility and resilience. 8.3 Test non-critical dough formulationsPrepare and test new dough formulations, characterise them and identify the optimal plant conditions for their industrialisation in collaboration with Sacmi. 8.4 Upgrading of production linesUpgrade storage and dough preparation systems to comply with the new Digital Supply Chain Twin procurement and testing.8.5 Test the make-to-stock (MTS) systemUse the Digital Supply Chain Twin to simulate and optimise the balance between MTS procurement and MTO production, (make-to-order) testing in a pre-industrial environment. 8.6 Cost Benefit Analysis (CBA)Define and compare the costs and benefits of sourcing scenarios with DSCT using the integrated Kano and PAF model. 8.7 Circular and intelligent supply chain testingTest the best sourcing scenario in an operational environment by monitoring flows and validating circularity, risk and cost indicators using DSCT. 8.8 Implement the circular business plan.Verify the circular business plan and risk management plan, combining SWOT analysis with ROI and ROA calculation.
