WP3 aims to develop new smart chemicals to improve the ceramic industry's production process from a circular economy perspective. Currently, the chemistry that supports ceramics to use unconventional resources is not sufficiently explored.
This WP aims to optimize slurries containing national and European geo-resources and to improve raw materials that are often discarded due to their perceived unsuitability. Analytical techniques and procedures that closely mimic ceramic production conditions will be used to identify and develop tailor-made chemicals. Expected results include increased suspension density, improved productivity and reduced firing and decoration defects.
The innovative, tailor-made approach will ensure high levels of performance, contributing to energy savings and improving the environmental and economic sustainability of the ceramics industry.
