DESCRIPTION
WP1 focuses on the development of a geographical-geological and compositional database of Italian and European raw materials for the ceramics industry, assessing their potential use in order to support reshoring strategies.
This database will provide a baseline of data for the modelling of the geomaterials firing dynamics and for the strategic assessment of economic, social and environmental sustainability of ceramics industry supply chain, with the aim of developing new business models for more resilient supply chains.
The database will contain data from scientific and technical-specialist literature, as well as from laboratory analyses, that will be carried out also for the characterization of materials reactivity. A shared protocol between the partners will be developed for strategic sustainability assessment, based on Life Cycle Thinking (LCT) approach.
ACTIVITIES
In order to achieve the purpose of the WP, the activities described below have been planned.
