DESCRIPTION
WP7 focuses on the development of a circular procurement system and innovative ceramic materials, following the principles of circular economy and circular eco-design.
Activities aim to create an operational methodology that defines circularity-based procurement criteria, integrating sustainability with material design. Using the Circular Design Thinking approach, the project adopts a vision that combines life cycle analysis with operational model design, optimizing both technological performance and sustainability.
The aim is to rethink the supply system and ceramic materials to strengthen the company's value proposition, reduce supply chain risks and provide quantitative parameters to build a circular and intelligent supply chain.
The innovative contribution of this WP lies in the application of Circular Design Thinking, an emerging concept not yet explored in operational contexts in Italy.
ACTIVITIES
In order to achieve the purpose of the WP, the activities described below have been planned.
7.1 Organizational Technology Sustainability Assessment (O-TSA)Experiment with technological sustainability as the fourth dimension of circularity, using the O-TSA methodology to assess its impact in the industrial organization.7.2 Circularity assessment of key suppliersEstablish a protocol for selecting key suppliers based on their impact on supply chain circularity, using a hybrid methodology.7.3 Circular supply designInvestigate a process to measure supply chain circularity using environmental, economic, social and technological indicators, optimising suppliers and processes. 7.4 Linking the physical and virtual worldsStudy a module to integrate ERP and Digital Supply Chain Twin to improve real-time response and analysis of the circular supply chain. 7.5 Reshoring of critical raw material sourcingDevelop a module to integrate ERP and Digital Supply Chain Twin to improve real-time response and circular supply chain analysis.7.6 Investigate and test non-critical clay materialsInvestigate and test alternative European clays to reduce reliance on Ukrainian supplies, optimising the redesign of ceramic slurries. 7.7 Study and test non-critical feldspar materials.Study and test alternative Italian fluxes to reduce dependence on Turkish feldspar, optimising redesign of ceramic bodies. 7.8 Circular design of non-critical ceramic bodies.Investigate new ceramic body formulations using non-critical raw materials to reduce environmental impact and meet ISO standards.
