The VOLT project was presented at the 4th International Symposium on Industrial Engineering and Automation (ISIEA 2025), held at the Free University of Bolzano. Participation in the symposium was an important opportunity to share the scientific content of the project within an international context dedicated to industrial engineering and automation.
The presentation was given by the team from the University of Brescia (UNIBS), which illustrated some of the research activities developed as part of the VOLT project. The contribution focused in particular on the work in progress relating to the analysis of emissions along the supply chain, a central theme of the project and one of growing importance for complex production systems.
During the presentation, the methodological approaches adopted to analyze emissions at the value chain level were shared, highlighting the role of collaboration between the partners of the API - VOLT project, funded by the Ministry of Enterprise and Made in Italy. This type of analysis allows for a more in-depth understanding of the distribution of emissions along the different levels of the supply chain and supports a more informed assessment of environmental impacts.
The presentation of the VOLT project was part of a broad scientific program, which saw a strong presence of contributions dedicated to sustainability and sustainable supply chains. This context facilitated comparison with other related research work, offering useful ideas for strengthening ongoing project activities.
Another important element was the link between VOLT's activities and the main emissions reporting frameworks, in particular the GHG Protocol and the issue of Scope 3 emissions, which are central to measuring indirect impacts along the value chain. Framing the work within these references helps to ensure that the project's results are consistent with international standards.
Participation in ISIEA 2025 confirms the VOLT project's commitment to disseminating scientific results and engaging in dialogue with the academic community. The exchange with researchers and professionals in the field represents an opportunity to validate the approaches adopted and to strengthen the project's position within the international debate on sustainability and industrial innovation.
The presentation at ISIEA 2025 is therefore part of a broader effort to promote VOLT's research activities, helping to consolidate its scientific visibility and support the project's future developments.
