On Friday, May 12, 2023, the first inspection visit for the preliminary evaluation of the VOLT project took place virtually. The meeting represented a key step in the technical and administrative analysis process required to access the subsidies.
The preliminary inspection is an important phase in the evaluation of research and development projects, as it allows for direct discussion between the proponents and the entities involved in the evaluation. In this context, the objective is to verify the overall consistency of the project, examine its key aspects, and clarify any elements that require additions or adjustments.
The meeting was attended by the Technical Scientific Expert from the CNR Institute of Materials (CNR-IOM) and the Managing Entity, UniCredit Banca, who spoke with the project's Management Committee. The discussion focused on both technical and administrative aspects, with a joint analysis of the main components of the VOLT project.
From a technical point of view, the discussion concerned the general structure of the project, the planned activities, and the research and development objectives. This type of in-depth analysis is useful for assessing the level of innovation proposed and the soundness of the approach adopted, which are key elements in the preliminary evaluation phase.
At the same time, administrative and procedural aspects were also examined. At this stage, attention is focused on the completeness of the documentation, the formal correctness of the information presented, and the consistency between the project plan and the requirements of the evaluation process. The involvement of the Managing Entity allows the project to be aligned with expectations and planned operating procedures from the outset.
During the inspection visit, the Technical Scientific Expert and the Managing Entity provided the Management Committee with a series of specific recommendations. These recommendations are aimed at making any additions and adjustments to the project that may be necessary in order to continue the evaluation process correctly.
This exchange of observations and suggestions is a constructive part of the process, aimed at improving the proposal as a whole. The requested additions do not constitute a final assessment, but rather a tool to strengthen the quality of the project and make it fully consistent with the eligibility and evaluation criteria.
The virtual nature of the meeting ensured a structured and in-depth discussion, guaranteeing the participation of all those involved. This approach is part of a well-established framework for managing evaluation processes, which prioritizes operational efficiency without compromising the quality of technical dialogue.
With the conclusion of the first inspection visit, the VOLT project now enters the next phase of its evaluation process. The implementation of the recommendations provided and any updates to the documentation will be the next steps necessary to advance the evaluation process, in line with the procedures in place.
